Boston Whaler introduces spacious new 230 Outrage

Edgewater, FL. (May 24, 2016) -

The legendary Boston Whaler Outrage family welcomes its newest member: the comfortable, confidence-inspiring 230 Outrage. This spacious center console model joins recent additions to the Outrage lineup including the new 330, 280 and 250 Outrages.

One of the most notable aspects of the new 230 is just how roomy it feels for its size. By pushing the combing around the bow further outboard, Boston Whaler’s engineers were able to maximize floor space, legroom and seating width throughout. This design also contributes to the sense of stability and security for passengers in the bow.

“The customer’s experience was a primary concern in designing the new 230 Outrage,” said Jeff Vaughn, Boston Whaler vice president of sales, marketing and customer service. “We listened closely to our boaters’ feedback on how, where and why they use their boats. These insights helped to shape the next generation of Outrage. They also fuel our commitment to providing Core Confidence, through boats that are purposeful, intuitive, and perform seamlessly.”

True to its lineage, the 230 Outrage perfectly balances comfort and capability. It excels as a fishing platform, yet it’s also designed to facilitate fun-filled days on the water with a group of friends and family. It features an ergonomically pleasing layout with a full 360 degrees of walkaround. Amenities including a standard head in the console contribute to everyone’s comfort.

The expansive bow area includes wraparound forward seating with readily accessible cup holders, as well as a two-person forward-facing seat directly in front of the console that lifts to reveal a large storage compartment. Another storage compartment can be found under a hatch in the floor. The optional bow table lends itself beautifully to social gatherings, and stores neatly in the console when not in use. Additionally, an optional JL Audio® stereo package offers four premium speakers, for great sound throughout the boat.

Anglers will appreciate the 230 Outrage’s many great fishing features, including the integrated fiberglass hardtop option. Rod holders are placed strategically throughout the cockpit, and the transom features a convenient portside livewell. Chief among the 230’s standout features is the Converting Leaning Post. It starts as a standard bench helm seat, but its backrest conceals a handy flip-down workstation perfect for prepping lines, tackle or snacks. For even more seating, the backrest can be rotated down a full 90 degrees to form an aft-facing seat. A 54-gallon cooler slides neatly below. Anglers can select the optional Fishing Leaning Post to gain a 30-gallon livewell in this area of the boat.

At the helm, several new refinements make captaining duties a pleasure. A darker console face reduces glare, and an intuitive control panel with optional Raymarine E95 touchscreens makes for seamless command. A choice of Mercury® Verado® outboard engines provides the reliable, efficient power that anglers and pleasure cruisers need for worry-free days. And with Boston Whaler’s precision-engineered deep-V hull, featuring full-length lifting strakes and a noticeable flair in the bow, a soft, safe, dry ride is guaranteed.

“The new 230 Outrage delivers comfort and capability for boaters who expect the very best,” said Vaughn. “We’re pleased to add another source of Core Confidence to the storied Outrage lineup.”
