Boston Whaler President Huw Bower emphasized Whalers loyalty not only to its customers, but also to the community it has called home for nearly three decades. Boston Whaler is committed to creating the safest, easiest to own, and most exciting boats on the water, and Florida is truly the best place for us to meet that goal, said Bower. We are grateful to Gov. Scott for visiting our facility to highlight our recent incredible growth, and we look forward to continuing to serve our great customers and grow our dedicated team here in the Sunshine State.
During his visit, Gov. Scott was taken on a tour of the plant, after which he addressed the media. The governor took the opportunity to acknowledge Whalers employees and to thank the Volusia County Council and Edgewater Mayor Michael Ignasiak for their support of the facilities expansion project and ongoing efforts directed at increasing high quality jobs and business investment.
Boston Whaler has more than doubled in jobs at our Edgewater plant since the end of 2010, said Bower. We have invested, and will continue to invest, in training and education to offer all of our employees opportunities for advancement and growth. We are committed to being the best partner we can beto our customers, our dealers, our suppliers and our local community. Were excited for the future, and know that we can count on Gov. Scotts support to create the right conditions for business growth and job creation.
