Kim Shaller’s first job at Boston Whaler was as an intern for the HR department in April of 1993. The position was planned as a three month internship. Fast forward 25 years and Kim has had multiple positions with increasing responsibility, including her most recent promotion to Purchasing Manager in 2018 with seven direct reports. During her tenure at Boston Whaler, Kim has managed our annual golf tournament and participated on our Activity Committee which hosts our Company Picnic and other community outreach events. What an outstanding career for Kim!
Kim’s journey highlights the many opportunities that are available for someone starting a career with Boston Whaler. With almost 700% growth in the past six years, opportunities to grow with our company are many. As Kim grew with the organization, she planned and successfully completed her B.A. in Supervisor and Management from Daytona State College in 2018. Kim completed her B.A. as part of Brunswick’s tuition reimbursement program. She graduated with her B.A. and zero school debt. Congrats Kim! If you asked Kim what her goals were in 1993, she expected to make a career in Finance. Today if you ask Kim her goals and aspirations, she would tell you she would like to run Operations and be responsible for the entire plant, which for those who know Kim, is a distinct possibility.
Kim has one daughter, Bailey, who is attending college in Colorado. Kim enjoys boating (on a Boston Whaler of course), fishing, and an annual trip to the Florida Keys with close friends. As a lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers, Kim owns (and once in while will sport) the Packer’s famous Cheesehead Hat. Boston Whaler is proud of Kim’s 25 years of service and leadership and looks forward to what the next 25 years brings to Kim.
